What is Li-Fi
Li-Fi is just like Wi-Fi, but it’s speed is beyond your imagination. Your days of wasting 10 minutes on loading a 2 minute video will be soon over, thanks to Li-Fi.
How it works
Li-fi is the transmission of data through illumination by taking the fiber out of fiber optics by sending data through a LED Light bulb.
It is fast and much more cheaper which is the optical version of Wi-Fi.
It’s operation is very simple. If the LEDs is on, you can transmit a digital 1, if it’s off you transmit a digital 0. The LED’s can be switched on and off very quickly, which makes the transmission of data. So all we need is LED and a controller that can code that data into those LEDs. Thus, every light source will work as a hub for data transmission.
It offers up to 10 Gbps, and it is possible to achieve more. This means it can download a HD film to be downloaded within 30 seconds. It’s bandwidth is 10,000 times than radio waves.
