‘Hey Cortana’ Voice Launch is dropped by Microsoft

'Hey Cortana' Voice Launch is dropped by Microsoft in Android app

The tweak in which Microsoft says you need to open the voice assistant Cortana using  finger tap on Android OS app.

The version of mobile Cortana voice assistant app for Android in US is no longer having virtual assistant like in Google Now. This voice virtual assistant is temporarily disabled, said by the Microsoft representative.

This means that android Operating system users can only use ‘Hey Cortana’ using finger tap instead of virtual assistant. Virtual assistant is a must need feature in Voice launchers nowadays.

Microsoft introduced Cortana as an app in Android and also in iOS. Cortana is having competition with both Apple Siri and Google Now. Having no virtual assistant in ‘Hey Cortana’ app may not be a big blow to Microsoft but it will lead people to use Google Now.

Same thing happened with the iOS, there is no virtual assistant in iOS Cortana app. Now only Windows 10 and Window 10 smartphones have ‘Hey Cortana’ feature.

Instead of this setback, Microsoft is working on updates for Cortana in Andriod and iOS which includes improved voice interactions, enhanced reminders and faster load times and location services option during battery saving mode.
